Barbara Hoyland, 69, of Orillia, On, departed our lives but not our hearts on May 17, 2024. Barb was born on March 12, 1955, in Edmonton, Alberta, the daughter of John and Helene Moore.
Barbara led an exciting life, having captured the heart of her husband David (deceased) when she was just 14, as he motorcycled his way across the country. David and Barb went on many adventures together from Fort Saskatchewan, to Toronto, to Halifax before settling down in Collingwood to start their family, eventually settling in Orillia to raise their three daughters; Morticia (Tisha (Alex Karamanev), of Orillia), Lisa (James Barcaro), Yulee FL, and Sarah (Garrison Brown) of Kincardine.
Later in life, Barb developed another deep connection with her partner Steven Brooks, and added to her family son Derek Brooks (Zehna) of Orillia. In her later years Barb was most appreciative of all of the love and support that the Brooks family provided to her.
Barb loved her friendships and family deeply, and she was known for her amazing sense of fun and humor. Her laughter and spirit brightened the lives of everyone around her. Barb's backyard was a gathering place for family and friends, filled with love, laughter, and countless joyful memories. She told joyous tales of all, but shared exceptional memories with “her girls,” Terri, Jen and Sue.
Barb was the loving sister of Brian Moore (deceased), Patricia Adie (Walter), Dale Moore (Cari), Glen Moore, Ron Moore, all of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; John Moore, Dean Moore (Dzunia) of Edmonton, Alberta; and Shawn Moore (deceased) of Leduc, Alberta, as well as cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren, Sebastian, Adrian, Tony and Micah Barcaro, Max and Leo Brown, Henry, Walden and Verla Karamanev and Finley Brooks.
A graveside service for Barb will be held on June 27, 2024, 2:00 pm at the Kincardine Cemetery, Kincardine, Ontario, followed by a private celebration of life.Barb will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, joy, and humor will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
