Carla Jane Palmer

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the passing of Carla Palmer. To represent the experiences of her life within the confines of this medium is impossible. Her care for others and vibrant stories are a hallmark of who she was. She has touched so many, making everyone part of her world. Carla always had a keen interest in the lives and passions of everyone she connected with. 

Although an only child, Carla made the people of Orillia part of her family. Her knowledge of the inner workings of the people and places in Orillia was vast and her stories illuminated the excitement and vibrancy of the characters of her home town. 

The only thing more prevalent than Carla’s never ending stories was her love of Fern Resort and the people who worked there. There is no question the Fern family has lost part of its soul. Her legacy will live on through the memory of Carla Palmer. 

Carla organized her own Obituary and for those that know her, you will appreciate the understated nature of her words. 

Family: Frances and Hugh Palmer, Pearl and Don Yeoman (all predeceased) 

Robert Downing, Eric (predeceased), Daniela, Mark, Erika, Alexis, Bella, Laura Downing, Kassie and Ashley Nelson. 

The Downing Family along with good friends, gave me reason to look forward to years ahead. 

As the wise people say “Life is up to you” … Mine was certainly a roller coaster, but family and friends certainly make the ride worthwhile … 

I do hope that my close friends will have good memories of the many good times we had together. 

I have requested NO service, Visitation, or Planned Celebration. 

Please gather at Fern Resort Tuesday December 17th @ 2:00 for a "non-planned" gathering to celebrate and share good memories of Carla.
