Christine Nora Rowe

January 14, 1940 — October 8, 2024

(Founding Member of Orillia Town & Country Club 55 years; Treasurer for Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association, Orillia 25 years)

Passed away at Trillium Manor, Orillia on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with Dementia in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Peter Rowe for 55 years. Dear mother to Michael (Lynn) Rowe, Cary (Eugene) Duffy, Kathleen (Shawn) Farr and Robert Rowe. Cherished grandmother of Sean and Joshua Rowe, Skyanne Tillotson, Terry Duffy-Ross, Cleo Duffy, and Dylan and Dustin Farr. Proud great grandmother of Alyric, Zane and Jasper Rowe, Carter Rowe and Jaxon Tillotson. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Nora Smith and brother Burt and her mother-in-law Maude Rowe. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Michael Smith, Joy Brown, Marjorie Tiffin as well as numerous nephews, nieces, friends and co-workers.

Chris was born in England and immigrated with her family in 1949 settling first in Coopers Falls then to Orillia with her family. Chris was very talented and loved to cook, bake, sew and knit. In the early 1970's she went to work in food prep at Twin Lakes S.S. then onto teaching students to cook until 1986. Loving all things domestic she then worked at Zellers in housewares and Fabricland. Her last occupation never wanting to slow down was house and pet sitting where her services were always in demand. The last few years were not easy as she struggled with dementia, but we still often saw glimpses of her lovely self-shining through. She was a gentle, kind person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace now Mom.

A special thank you to Waypoint (Horizons Program), Trillium Manor and Dr. Grieve for all your compassion and care.
