Denene Jane Bird (nee Hawke)

Denene passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at OSMH. She was 59.

Loving partner of Jon Tomlinson. Proud Mother and loving best friend of Carlene MacLean and her partner Rick Hall of Newcastle. Number one Nana to her Sunshine and light of her world, Landen Cairns.

Daughter of Joyce and the late Carlyle Hawke of Orillia. Cherished Sister of Lisa and her husband Larry Fenton; Teri and her husband Marc Kuhnow (both predeceased). Loving Aunt of Michael and his wife Lisa Fenton; Zachary Fenton. Dear Great Aunt of Evelyn Fenton.

Also, Jon’s parents Harvey and Linda Tomlinson; Sister Jo-Anne and her husband Scott Carrier; Brian Tomlinson and his partner Jeff Walker.

Denene will be remembered for her loving heart, larger-than-life smile, and her awesome hugs.

Thank you to Dr. Karim Dharssi, her nurses on the 2^nd, 4^th, and 5^th floors at OSMH and the transplant team at Toronto General Hospital for all that they did for Denene.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 25 at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, from 2:00pm - 4:00 pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning, January 26^th at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.
