Passed away suddenly, but peacefully at his home in Orillia on July 18, 2023 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of 50 years to Teresa (nee Lloyd) and devoted father of Carolyn Campbell (Paul Carruthers) Orillia and Kevin Campbell, Orillia. Loving papa of Fife and Marley Campbell. Brother of Mary Anne Martin (John Hipwell) Oro-Medonte, Patti Mathers (Bob) Brampton, Terri McLaughlin, Orillia, Joan Bryan (Lyle) Spokane, WA and Paul (Suzanne) of Orillia. Will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews and his in-laws Brian Barnes, Barrie and Lyn Lloyd, Innisfil.
Don spent most of his life in Orillia, attending Guardian Angels school, ODCVI and Park Street Collegiate. He went on to study at McMaster University graduating with a B. Comm. and MBA degrees. Not yet through studying he went on to Osgoode Law School and graduated in 1975. He spent a brief period practicing law in Orillia but shortly joined the Department of Municipal Affairs and worked in their branch office in Orillia until he retired. He was well loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, from 2 – 4 pm. Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Monday, July 24th, 2023, at 11 am. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Orillia at 1:30 pm. If desired memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be much appreciated by the family.
