Passed away peacefully at Birchmere Retirement Residence, Orillia, on Friday, July 26, 2024, in her 97th year. Bernice, beloved wife of the late Walter James Thorburn for over 66 years. Loving mother of Judy Tordiff (Bruce) of Bass Lake and Janet Newman (predeceased)(Michael) of Capreol. Cherished grandmother of Brian (Charlotte), Jeff ( Sherry), Kim ( Dave), Darryl (April) and proud great grandmother of 8. Dear sister of Mae, Chester, Bill, Bruce, Joyce, John and Wayne all predeceased. She is survived by her many nieces, nephews and their families. The late Mrs. Bernice Thorburn will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Wednesday, July 31st from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm. Interment; St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
