It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edson (Ed) Andrus, on October 31, 2021, at the age of 72. He leaves behind his best friend and partner Barbara McParland and her son Wyatt (Claire). He will be sadly missed by his children Jeff (Tracey), Crystal (Aaron), Tiffany (Mike) and Edson Jr.; and his grandchildren Emily, Abby, Madelaine, Julia, Mason, Spencer, Andy, and Elliot, all of whom he was extremely proud. Remembered by his brother Randy (Roberta) and sisters Penny (Dave) and Suzanne - predeceased. He will also be missed by Barbara’s siblings; Maurine (Rick), Greg - predeceased (Lorrie), Michael (Margie), Maryanne (Ray - predeceased), Cathy, Shaunagh (Don) and Paula - predeceased, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed was kind and generous and helped many people. He was a unique and special individual, talented in everything he did. He was a perfectionist, and loyalty and trust were so important to him. He loved his golf and treasured those games at Hawk Ridge as well as the many golf trips.
A special thanks to Dr’s. Justin Porter and Deven Bhatt, his doctors at TGH and Princess Margaret, his nursing staff at home from Bayshore, and all the staff at Mariposa House Hospice. Thank you to the many special friends who will remain in Ed’s heart.
Following Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 27th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Couchiching Golf Club in Orillia. Please note that due to COVID restrictions, proof of double vaccination is required.
