CROCKER, JAMES DELBERT It is with sadness that we advise family and friends that Jim passed away at home with the love of his life by his side, Helen, on March 1, 2025. Predeceased by his parents, Gus and Faye, his sister, Diane, and his brothers-in-law, Jim and Bert. He will be missed by his children and their spouses (David and Karla, Donald and Hilda, Darren and Anita and Laurie and Steve), his grandchildren and their spouses (Joey, Katie and Alex, Jeremy and Darah, Shane and Sandra, Heidi and John, Shanann and Frank, Jamie and Holli, Sam and Sloan, Grace, Colin, Faye, Michaela and Jesse and David), great grandchildren (Chase, Neveah, Ryder, Mitchell, Jayden, Daymien, Dillon, Mikayla, Kyle, Jacob, Emily, Carter, Evan, Hayle, Corbin, Addison, Ava, Roya, Luna, Sunny, Malcolm, Cameron and Margo), sisters-in-law (Laurene and Orma), nieces and nephews and their families and, of course, his Delta family. Jim grew up in Etobicoke and spent much time in Weston in his teenage years where Helen lived. Jim and Helen married in 1965 and moved to Newmarket. Their lives became enriched with the additions of their children David, Donald, Darren and Laurie. After going for a drive one day, they found themselves in Seaforth. They loved the town and decided to make Seaforth their home where Jim eventually became the town clerk. Jim and Helen both agreed that raising kids in Seaforth was the best decision they made. After retirement, Jim and Helen moved to Jim’s parents’ place on Lake Couchiching in Washago. A final move took them both to Orillia. Moving to Washago and Orillia was another good decision. Many friends were made in Newmarket, Seaforth and Washago/Orillia. They loved having family close by in Washago/Orillia as well. Jim and Helen had a fun life together: many, many summers in Delta, wintering in Florida and Arizona, more than a few hijinks in Seaforth, boating on Georgian Bay and relaxing with a cocktail on the dock at Couchiching. Jim enjoyed fishing at Little Doc, NWT and was a proud member of the Orillia Fish & Game Conservation Club. He loved family and friends and made sure he always stayed in touch. His doggie Maggie will miss him. Jim battled cancer for 8 years and battled hard. We are so proud that he never gave up. He celebrated his 82nd birthday on February 25th and his note in his journal that day was: “82 times around the sun!”. He loved life. Thank you to the first responders who attended Jim - it was a great comfort to Helen. A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends in June. Donations in his memory may be made to CFUW Orillia Scholarship Fund or to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital and may be made online or through the Mundell Funeral Home.
