Jean Florence Hutt (nee Sales)

With deep love and heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Jean Florence Hutt. Surrounded by family at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Jean was welcomed into God’s arms on April 6, 2025 at the age of 94.

Born in Milton Ontario, Jean was the daughter of Herbert and Winnifred Sales (both predeceased). She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Hutt and spent many happy years in Streetsville and Orillia until Bill’s untimely death in 1990. Jean was the loving mother of daughter Kerrie and son-in-law Dave Pellarin and most devoted Gramma of Mitchell Pellarin (Shannon).

Jean was the fifth of nine children and will be deeply missed by her surviving brother Kenny and his wife Gloria of Milton, as well as her brother-in-law Rae Hutt of Orillia (Alice predeceased). She is reunited in heaven with her siblings: Les Sales (wife Anne surviving), Jack Sales (Peggy), Doug Sales, Frank Sales, Doris Ormond (Bob), Bob Sales (Irene) and Shirley Watson (Doug). She is survived by many nieces and nephews who will always cherish Aunt Jean’s fierce love, dedication and time together in Milton and vacationing in Orillia.

Jean’s positive fun-loving spirit, contagious smile, sense of humour, kindness and famous dance moves will live on in all who knew her. She was the life of the party and will always be remembered for her proud animated cheerleading at hockey and lacrosse games, her courage, her sincerity, her unwavering commitment to her family and for her absolute love of life.

The family heartwarmingly thanks everyone who so strongly supported her last journey including friends, Birchmere Retirement Residence, OSMH and Drs. Gallagher and Kapeluto.

Please join us at Mundell’s Funeral Home (79 West Street North, Orillia) to celebrate Jean’s wonderful life. Visitation will be held on Saturday April 12th 10:00 a.m. until time of the service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. If desired, memorial donations to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
