Joan Jordan Wensley

Wensley; Joan Jordan RN (nee Pope) Born: October 20, 1926

On Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at home in her sleep. Dearly loved wife of the late Dr. Jim Wensley; loving sister of Dinnie Elder (Murray) both predeceased; mother of treasured sons Matthew and Mark; special cousin of David Britnell predeceased (Mary Margaret Fox); daughter of Ruth Britnell and James Pope both predeceased; aunt of Michael Wensley (Kitty) and their children Tristen and Jacqualine. After graduation from North Toronto Collegiate, she trained at the Hospital for Sick Children to become an R.N in 1948. She loved her 30 years of nursing in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Copper Cliff, Saudia Arabia and Orillia. Longtime friendships from high school, nursing career, bridge club and Snow bunnies she treasured. Being in her kayak, garden, bicycle, cross country skiing or her blue Thunderbird Convertible with Tara her German Shepherd pal were her favourite places to be. Mom believed she was lucky all her life, except in card playing. Forever grateful to her dear son, Mark for his companionship and devoted care for the last 26 years. Dr. Reme Kamal and Dr. Wendy McComb were special doctors in her life. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia. As she wished, there will be no visitation nor service. Cremation has taken place.
