Joseph George Ogden

November 8, 1945 — October 23, 2024

Ogden; Joseph George

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph George Ogden in his 79th year at Soldiers Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Joe was the loving husband, friend and soulmate of Sandra (nee Micks). Joe was the son of George and Helen Ogden (both predeceased) and, brother to Michael (Alice). Joe was a wonderful son-in-law to Doris Micks (predeceased). Joe was an amazing and loving stepdad to Scott Kett (Stacey) and Kevin Kett (Candace). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ashlyn, Brenden, Hunter and Brooklyn. He was also a special Papa Joe to Emily Campol.

Loving brother-in-law to Ken (Teresa) Micks, Brenda (Larry) Smith, Sylvia (Gerry) Smith, Roy (Mary) Micks, Alan (predeceased) (Dianne) Micks. Joe was fondly known as Jerzy Jo to those closest to him. Joe will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Joe was extremely proud of his 27 year career with the Ontario Provincial Police. For seven of those years, Joe was known as the "Main Man" on the OPP Pipes and Drums Band. Joe loved his time with the band and had many great memories of playing for towns and cities all over the province.

Joe loved to say his retirement career was almost as long as his working career. When Joe retired, we became snowbirds and spent over 20 years going to our home in Ranchero Village where we became a part of the community and made many new friends. Joe was an avid golfer and would spend hours through the summer at Cooch and at the range.

The family wants to thank Dr. Soch and Dr Italiano for their compassion and caring during his short hospital stay. A special thank you to the nurses and PSW's on Soldiers 1 who cared so professionally for Joe.

As per Joe's wishes there will be a private family interment at a later date.
