It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josh Fountain, who peacefully left us on March 24, 2025, at Mariposa House Hospice, surrounded by much love and support. Josh is now reunited with his beloved sister Jessie, his grandparents Catherine & James Fountain, his grandfather Kenneth McIsaac and his in-laws Bill and Ann McDonald.
Josh will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Amber McDonald-Fountain, and their cherished daughter, Julia, who brought him immeasurable joy. He was a devoted son to John & Cathy Fountain, and a beloved grandson to Mary McIsaac, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Josh is also remembered fondly by his brothers-in-law Jamie (Krista), Donnie (Michelle), and Robbie (Tash); his nieces and nephews— Tyler, Kayla (Wayde), Sierra, Ronan, Evelyn and along with great nieces Kenley, Wriley, and Koraley.
Josh was a man who touched the lives of so many, leaving behind many extended family who were the people he looked up to, cherished, and considered as his best friends and were more thought of as his immediate family.
His closest friends will remember him for his love of sports, music, his humour and as a person you could depend on. Those that knew him loved him for his patient, kind, hard working, and entertaining spirit.
Though Josh was diagnosed young with Appendix Cancer, he fought a long hard battle with this disease while continuing to create many special memories and achievements in life.
He travelled the world, attended sporting events, belonged to the locally successful band the Runamuckers, played hockey, soccer and curled, and helped to organize or spearhead many family events that included ball hockey games, board game nights, St. Patties Day music at the church, activities at Cranstock, video game nights, and much more. “GO HABS GO”
Though he is gone he will be immortalized in the minds of everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Friday, March 28th from 4 - 6 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning, March 29th at 11 a.m. at the St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 4993 Highway 12 - Uptergrove.
