Ken passed away at home in Washago on Tuesday October 31, 2023.  He was the beloved husband and best friend of Patricia (deceased 2016).  He was “Number 3 Son” of four boys, predeceased by his parents Neil and Emily McDonald - survived by brothers Ralph (Rosemary), David (Pam) and Richard (Colin). 
Ken will be fondly remembered by his nephews - Drew and Ashley and he will be especially missed by Don Mugford (Carol), numerous extended family members and special friends in Washago and beyond.   He advocated for all things canine and his companions Chester and Sophie are heartbroken. 
Ken enjoyed a rewarding career with Robertson Building Systems.  After some time in Alberta, he and Patricia returned to Ontario and built their forever-after home on the Green River in Washago.  Having many friends in the community, there were countless happy occasions in their home - often of the musical variety.   Ken hung up his golf shoes soon after retirement and enjoyed his Audi convertible and time spent as a volunteer at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
The McDonald family would like to express our gratitude to the community of Washago for their generous and heartfelt support during this time.   As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Please join family and friends at a Celebration of his Life on Sunday, November 12 2023, 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
