HAWKE, Laurie Jane (nee Simpson)

December 11, 1951 – November 18, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurie Jane Hawke at Spencer House on Monday, November 18th, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s.Devoted mother to Robert Hawke. Proud grandmother to Kaydan, Nevin and Charley. Loving sister to Marilyn (Garry) Bennett Boher and Diane Simpson. Cherished aunt to nephews Adam and Colin.

Laurie will be remembered for her quiet, gentle nature, always looking for ways to care for others. She enjoyed giving back to the community and to those in need. Laurie was an avid reader, often reading several books at once. She developed many wonderful friendships during her time at Spencer House playing cards and bingo.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia. As per Laurie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Sharing Place or Parkinson’s Foundation.
