LeBarr (Carruthers); Margaret Anne- Passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital at the age of 65, after years of pain and illness, now at peace with God. Margaret was born July 12, 1949 to Gordon and Grace (Brown) Carruthers of Cobourg, Ontario, she married Everett G. LeBarr on August 4, 1973 and they resided at 5142 Sideroad 25, Ramara Township (R.R. #6 Orillia, ON) for 41 plus years. Sister of Douglas Carruthers, Malcolm Carruthers (Cathy), Gladys Moore all of Cobourg and area, Wendy Cole (Mauriece) of Hilton, sister-in-law of Betty LeBarr and Norm Moore both predeceased. Niece of Donald Carruthers (Betty) of Cobourg, Helen Saeles (Carmen) of Whitby, Ron Stewart of Toronto, Mary Roberts (Earle predeceased) of Rugby, Joyce Readman (Levi predeceased) of Orillia and Irene James (Art predeceased) of Arizona, USA. Aunt of Charlene Graham (Russell), Janine Woods (Bruce), Kevin Moore, Trevor Moore (Jennifer) all of Oro Medonte and Trisa Chernuck of Cobourg. Great Aunt of Whitley Prentice of Cobourg and Emily (Scott), Reid Graham, Laure, Owen, Alison Woods, Drake & Miranda Moore of Oro Medonte, Marg had many friends and acquaintances, Kim & Jim Hewitt and Lillian Monck in particular. She loved all her cousins and other relatives. Marg graduated as an R.N. from the School of Nursing at Lindsay Hospital. She worked as a private nurse in the Cobourg area and after her marriage in the Orillia area. She worked for the V.O.N., Simcoe County, Red Cross as a private nurse, with Helping Hands when Betty Forward first started it. After a serious car accident in December 1981 after which Marg spent over a year in Toronto Hospital, she became a very active volunteer helping adult physically disabled people. She helped found the Barrie and District Association for the Physically Disabled. She sat on the board under its different names- Simcoe County Association for the Physically Disabled (she was made a Lifetime Board Member at this point) and finally Independent Living Services. She founded the Orillia and District Assoc. for Physically Disabled (President for many years). She was Chair of Committee to bring first Owls Bus and second to Orillia. She worked with different councils to make Orillia and area accessible (Orillia Square Mall, Severn Township township office, Matchedash Library, Ramara Centre, Dalrymple United Church, Woodville Library but in particular the City of Orillia Councils and Mike Cox. She helped with Georgian College, Couchiching Beach Park and washrooms, water filtration plant, sewage plant Tudhope and different parks around Orillia, Downtown Orillia, old Orillia Library, Opera House and City Hall to name a few. She was fundraising chair for the March of Dimes in Orillia (Highest total for 5 yrs per size of city, member Coalition Disabled Executives for Simcoe County and many other groups. She was an advocate for those applying for Canada Pension and also sat on the Tribunal Board. She received mail from all across Canada and abroad from Disabled groups. Co-Owner of Trans-Canada Radio Emergency later Canadian Radio Communications and Radio Emergency later Canadian Radio Communications and Radio Emergency. An active cb'er and member of many groups. Awarded Order of Orillia (2003); Business Woman of the Year (1998); Nelle Carter Award (1998); Octra Award (for always being there in all kinds of weather or time of day or night) 1997. Certificate of appreciation OPP, March of Dimes Fundraising Award Five Years (1982); Community Action Award (Provincial) 1999; Order of Orillia 2x more as OSMH Volunteer and Telecare Volunteer. Victim Crisis Certificate (2008). The late Margaret LeBarr will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 1 PM until time of Unity L.O.B.A. 343 service at 2:30 PM immediately followed by Funeral Service. Cremation to follow. A light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Telecare or VCARS would be appreciated. Rest in peace Marg. I will see you in time. Your pain and illness are gone. I miss you and I'll love you forever.

The late Margaret LeBarr will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 1 PM - 2:30PM.
