Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 6th, 2024, at Mariposa House Hospice, Severn, in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of the late Marie Ann nee O'Brien. Loving father to Janice Mawdsley, Rosanne Kwiecien (Scott), Jason Mawdsley (Helen) & Brian Mawdsley (predeceased) (Sue). Cherished grandfather to Billy (Ingrid), Felicia (Joey), Cairine, Joy, Kaitlin (Rob), Haley, Eddie, Jacob, Sarah (Jordan) and great grandfather to Raymen, Lincoln, Xavier, Melville and Malcolm. Dear brother of Jean Cote, Glen (predeceased)(Dianne), Jack (Marlene), Shirley Gogol (predeceased) (Wendell), Mary Cochrane (Earl), Ollie Henry (predeceased) (Jim), Norma Thor (Kris)(both predeceased), and Dorothy McIlravey (Chuck). Mel will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, their families and his extended family, the O'Brien’s .
