Muriel Clysdale Marsh

Passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Robert Marsh (2001). Loving mother of Janet, Douglas, and Susan. Cherished grandmother of Bob (Laura), and Dan (Vicky). Dear sister of Earle (Joanne, predeceased) and Noreen (Allan, predeceased). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by parents Arthur and Nora (nee Heeney) Clysdale, sister Annie and brother-in-law Jim, and brother Jackson and sister-in-law Helen.

Muriel grew up on a farm in Moore Township where she worked with her family in the barn and the fields. Later, she taught school after graduating from Stratford Normal School. She married Bob in 1951 and moved with him to Orillia, enjoying a loving fifty-year marriage. Over the years, she raised her children, enjoyed her grandsons, and was a faithful and enthusiastic charter member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. Muriel will be deeply missed but she leaves us with loving memories that will last forever.

Friends and family will be received at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, on Tuesday, January 7 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, and on Wednesday, January 8 from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm in the chapel. A reception will follow. Interment will take place in the spring at the Moore Union Cemetery, 171 Moore Line, Mooretown. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, a charity of your choice, or someone in need.
