Paul Goddard

September 3, 1935 — January 10, 2025

On January 10th, 2025 Paul E. Goddard left this earthly world to be reunited with other loved ones. Paul, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us in his 90th year, was born and raised in Interval, New Brunswick. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion for nature was evident in everything he did.

Paul spent countless hours fishing on the lakes of Ontario, particularly Lake Huron, where he found solace in its tranquil waters and breathtaking sunsets. His love for the outdoors extended to hunting trips with his brothers in New Brunswick, moments he cherished deeply.

After moving to Saint John, Paul married Peggy (Beairsto), and together they made their home in London, Ontario, raising their two children Stephen (Melissa) and Susan (Paul) Bolger and instilling in them a love for the outdoors. Paul dedicated many years to General Motors before transitioning to a role as a Health and Safety Officer for the Ministry of Labour—a position he took great pride in. He spent cherished summers at his trailer in Kincardine, a place that held special memories for him. Fifteen years ago, he relocated to Orillia, Ontario, where he continued to enjoy life by the water, surrounded by family and especially his treasured grandchildren: Lily, Owen, Emily, Nell, and Will.

Paul was a true steward of the earth long before it became a common cause. He felt more at home in nature than indoors, with a keen eye for wildlife and an unwavering respect for the environment. His love for country music brought joy to his heart, and his laughter resonated through the lives of all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed by his sisters Audrey (Humbert) Beckett, Linda Goddard and Marlene Marshall, the thought of Paul reconnecting with his father and mother, Heber and Henrietta (Etta) Goddard, sister Cynthia and his two brothers William (Diana) and Robert (Vesta) Goddard, brings comfort to our hearts. We can almost hear their roars of laughter echoing through the skies.

Paul's spirit will forever remain a part of the beautiful landscapes he loved so dearly. His legacy of love, adventure, and respect for nature will continue to inspire us.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. A quiet family moment of recognition will take place.

Memorial donations can be made to Diabetes Canada (https://diabetes.ca/) or an environmental conservancy organization of your choice.
