Perry James Fell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Perry James Fell on September 4, 2024.

Perry was born and raised in Orillia but traveled the world. He is predeceased by his loving parents James “Jim” Fell and Phyllis Fell (nee Perry). Perry is survived by his adoring children, Carmen (Morgan) Gray of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Lana (Clarke) Ellis of Frankford, Ontario, and their mother Jacquie Askett (nee Bagley). Cherished Poppa of Annabelle, Tracy, Willa, and Bo.

Dear brother of Wayne (predeceased) (Pat, Nee Duffy) Fell, and uncle to Mark (Gurmiet) Daley-Fell, Adam Daley-Fell and children; Samantha and Alex. Best friend and loving brother of Ann Cooper (nee Fell) and uncle to Tara Sky (Ryan) Leith and children; Kailyn, Cameron, Kenzie and Taeden. Lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Favourite Uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Perry graduated from the Heavy Equipment Program from Sir Sandford Fleming College and began a successful career as a heavy duty and marine mechanic. Perry ventured into sales and became an integral part of Luff Industries for the past 16 years. At the time of his death, Perry held the title of Regional Sales Manager, serving a large territory which included Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario. Perry loved his work, which gave him the opportunity to travel Canada and meet with customers in person, in order to provide real life demonstrations of Luff products, and build lasting friendships along the way. Perry was preparing for retirement, but not a slower pace, as he looked forward to building a homestead in Orillia with his big sister Ann, spoiling his grandchildren, and an East Coast lifestyle.

Perry was an avid golfer and spent many hours playing with his father Jim, as well as his friends, family and clients. He enjoyed stock car and horse racing, and competed himself at the Barrie Speedway. Perry also enjoyed watching live races from around Canada and the US.

Perry had been a dedicated Mason with 34 years in the Craft, having been initiated into Equity Lodge #659 in 1990, progressing through the chairs until serving two terms as its Lodge Master 1998-1999 and 2002-2003. Perry amalgamated to Three Pillars Lodge #192 on June 13th, 2019 along with the rest of the Equity Brethren. Perry was a member of the Royal Arch Masons, Couchiching Chapter and served as its First Principal, as well he was a member of the Mount Calvary Preceptory No.12, becoming a Knights Templar.

In 1995 Perry became a Shriner with Rameses Shriners and then served as President of the Orillia Shrine Club in 2010. Perry was also a proud member of the Orillia Shrine Clubs Desert Rider Unit, (little orange go-carts) participating in countless parades to the delight of friends, family, children and crowds in Orillia and throughout Rameses Shriners jurisdiction. Perry served as its President in both 1999 and 2000. Perry was Appointed as Chief Aide in 2021 by the sitting Potentate, for that year. Perry was also a member of the Order of the Quetzalcoatl, Ciudad de la Torre, Teocalli #383 and served in its lead role as Camaxtli in 2015. And most recently, Perry was elected this past year to the North East Q Association as its Cuatemoc.

Perry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, charity, commitment to his community and passion for his family and Lodge Brethren.
