Sandra DeGeer (Fernall), 1954-2025, of Orillia, Ontario, will always be remembered for her kind heart, dedication to her family, and her unwavering compassion toward all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She peacefully passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late William “Duff” Sweeny and the late Janet Ileana Sweeny. Her legacy is not only one of professional success but of love for her family and friends.

Sandra's generosity, whether through her real estate career, her warm-hearted gestures to clients, or her selflessness to her family, touched so many lives. Her dedication to her clients and her genuine care for them went far beyond what most people would expect. Once the property closed, she would show up with a huge pan of lasagna, made from her own special recipe, along with garlic bread and a caesar salad, making sure that every detail of her welcoming meal was complete. And, of course, she never forgot the bottle of wine, ensuring her clients would have a relaxing and enjoyable first meal in their new home. Sandra didn’t just close deals, she made people feel cared for, she was the kind of realtor who went above and beyond. Sandra never boasted about her success, but she undoubtedly earned countless awards throughout her career, each a testament to her professionalism and commitment.

She leaves behind a beautiful memory, always embodying kindness, laughter and compassion.

Sandra is lovingly remembered by her brother, Michael Sweeny, and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sweeny of Goderich, Ontario; her son, Colin Fernall of Barrie, Ontario; and her daughter, Janet Sweeny of Orillia, Ontario.

Her spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched, leaving a mark on the hearts of all who met her, and she will always be fondly remembered for her loving nature, dedication to those she cared for, and the warmth she shared with everyone she encountered.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Sandra with her family during visitation on Sunday April 13th from 1pm - 4pm at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North Orillia.  If desired, memorial donations to the SPCA - Orillia Branch or a Charity of Ones Choice would be appreciated.
